felix 2006

I am excited to share my fourth page with you all tonight. I have learnt a number of PSE tricks whilst working with this template - self taught, by trawling scrapbooking forums, which will hopefully save me lots of time and improve the look of my pages in the future.

I am really enjoying digi scrapping and I'm so pleased I have started! It's been time consuming, but I'm getting faster as I become more familiar with the programme. Half the time lies within choosing the right photos and choosing a theme for your page.

I love that I have a page with Felix's first year collated together... I'm happy with how it turned out.

Now what's next?! ;)

our little signing star

Like the play on words?! ;)

Well here it is, my first quickpage... it wasn't super "quick", in fact it took me all afternoon and most of this evening! I'm a bit disappointed in myself for choosing such christmassy colours, but I'm pleased as punch that I worked out how to turn the greys of the quickpage into their own paper sections (see the link at the bottom of this post for the quickpage as I received it).

Since Stefan (DH), has upgraded our computer, it is now running beautifully and doesn't struggle with any big files and having multiple programmes open at once, which is great. We also now have Photoshop Elements 6, which is a huge step up from the old version of Photoshop that I was trying to teach myself!

I was able to fudge my way around and work out how to get the stars to take on the paper I had chosen, only referring to the help section once (which didn't help that particular time!).

Now that I'm starting to get the hang of the programme and how to go about things, I'm sure there will be many more pages to follow. I have been downloading some great freebie bits and pieces from all over the internet. It's just a matter of finding time to use them! My free time during the day has been spent lately with me having a nap (I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and toi-ed!) and the evening I usually spend with my hubby. It's just a matter of being more productive with the free time I do have, I guess.

I really enjoy doing this and hope you liked my 3rd page! I might go on a font hunt soon and find some new and interesting ones to use too :)

Be sure to go and check out pie scraps... she has used the same quickpage to do her own layout and it looks great! :) I've got a signing star and she has singing stars! Cute eh?!

our wedding day

This is my second attempt at a digi scrap page... not as happy with this one, as I am with the first. I guess you need to build up a collection of backgrounds and elements to combine and create your desired look.

By the way the wedding "theme" (if you could call it that) was pink and black... invites, cakes, suit/shirt/tie and flowers, so I thought the Urban Kiwi pack from shabby princess suited this well. My wedding and engagement rings are white gold and Stefan's is titanium, so I thought the chrome elements tied in well too.

I'm having fun and I'm feeling a real buzz when I do it. It's exciting and creative, I've needed to do do something like this for a while. Some ME time! I'm also getting the hang of this a lot quicker than I thought I would. I might even attempt my real life/paper scrapbooking soon. I have all the bits and pieces I need, I've just been to scared to start!
