Black Friday Blog Train - Stop #20

Hi all! Welcome to Melbourne, Australia!

Hopefully the blog train is working well and you should have arrived here via Sya's blog.

If you're visiting me from the US today, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving yesterday and are enjoying the Black Friday sales! Be sure to go and snag 40% off most of the digi-goodies at the ScrapMatters shop today!

One of my favourite Christmas Traditions is to make a pavlova for dessert! I have been making one every year since I was a young teenager. From a very young age, I used to always help my grandmother make the traditional plum (Christmas) pudding, but now that she is beyond cooking, the dessert is left up to me :) I really love pavlova and it is something we only have once a year, so I look forward to it! I always do strawberries and cream on top! YUM! Here's a pic of my one from last year...
Now, where are the freebies I hear you ask? Well I have some cute little hybrid candle decorations (or napkin holders!) for you to create. They were made with the great new holiday kit called "comfort & joy". It is a ScrapMatters design team collaboration and is available to you for FREE over this holiday weekend with purchases over $10 in the shop! Woohoo :)

click the image above to download

... and here's how they turned out! Cute huh? They can be stretched or shrunk to suit your candle or napkin size. You can even personalise them with some names if you want!
I didn't mention it on the preview but the .png's ARE included.

Now the train is departing! Please move on to Denise's blog for your next bit of FREE holiday goodness!

Oh, and if you missed the start of the blog train, you can head back to Andrea's blog and start from the beginning!

Happy Holidays!

I've been slack...

but there's so much coming up to make up for me being so slack! I have completed lots of projects which I still need to blog about. Maybe after this Friday, I can get caught up!

Up until a few weeks ago, I had never even heard of "Black Friday"... but is HUGE in the US and is all about having a big sale and boy - ScrapMatters is doing just that! Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is all about getting a bargin at the stores, sort of like our Boxing Day sales, yet more impressive! So they are doing no less at ScrapMatters, wait for it... 40% the whole store on Black Friday (THIS Friday, 28th November) and then further (not as impressive!) discounts across the weekend.

The best thing is, spend just $10 and receive the new "Comfort & Joy" holiday kit - FOR FREE!!

So be sure to pop back on Friday to jump on the blog train with me again for a sweet little hybrid holiday freebie!

Then once you're done filling your carts at the sale, make sure you drop past the forum each day to pick up another kit - FOR FREE! The newest "Daily Download" starts on Friday too and runs right up to the week before Christmas.

See you back here soon!
K :)

felix's day at the zoo

How much did felix like this storybook I made him of his day at the zoo? So much, that he wanted to sleep with it. Daddy was silly enough to let him too. By the morning there were buttons all over his bed and it is in need of repair already! Ahh well! He does love it and I'm sure it was fun, pulling those buttons off! ;)

I'm not to sure about my 'packaging' of the preview, but eh... that doesn't really matter for now. All that matters is, if you like it, download it and give me credit when you use it! Oh... and leave me a link here to show me what you did with it too!

Of course, everyone loves being left love, so if you like this, let me know and who knows? I might start pumping them out! ;)

tabbed journal

... is my hybrid current project!

a KaiserCraft tabbed journal! I am in the middle of making the templates for this album. It's been really fun. I will hopefully finish it soon. It's my first official hybrid project and I couldn't be much more excited!

I will, of course, take progress shots along the way and will be happy to share the template with anyone interested in making one themselves.

It's going to be an album about myself and my mum called "Just the 2 of us"... a present for her birthday. Here's hoping she'll like it!

another little boy

My first challenge at digichicks
{forum post}

I came across the digichick site by accident. I had just joined up at DigiShopTalk and found a link to a template challenge (with a really cute template!) and although I should have gone to bed, I instead started another LO, heh.

I like this one too :) I'm starting to get the hang of this thing!

caspar's first food

This is a result of a speed scrap I participated in, it was a lot of fun and not nearly as stressful as the first few I did! It was based around using contrasting colours from the colour wheel.

I was really happy with the results too. A cute LO me thinks!

caravan adventure

"Caravan Adventure"

This was our first trip away in my in-laws caravan, it was lots of fun! Being fairly pregnant and having a toddler who was too excited to sleep most of the time proved for an interesting time away! Overall a great time was had by all :)

Saturday Special #7 - Colour Challenge

at least FOUR of the following colours needed to be used for this challenge... I ended up making my own papers and template for this challenge, so that was fun. I used 5 of the 6 :) I'm learning more all the time!

What scrapbooking item are you?!

I saw this on erika's blog, who got it from britt, so I thought I'd have a go too!
What scrapbooking item are you?!
I'm... Fibers!

Fun and crazy at times. You are a warm fuzzy kind of person. You run around getting things done but still find time for fun! You have so many diverse interests that it is often hard to pin you down to any one thing. People love your friendly attitude and carefree ways. You often brighten other people's days. But Fibers Beware - Sometimes people don't take you seriously because of your happy-go-lucky ways. Sometimes you find yourself feeling left out from decision making that could directly affect you. Even though you like to be happy and cheerful, make sure others know that you can also be serious and in tune with reality.

what are you? take the quiz

organising your bits 'n pieces

Okay, so it MAY be just after 2am in the morning... and I MAY be sick at the moment... but I'll tell you one thing. I'm nothing, if not consistent with getting a bee in my bonnet!

So this evening I have been organising ALL my digital scrapbooking stuff. It has taken HOURS. But it is soooo worthwhile. When I first started digi scrapping, I wasn't quite sure how it all worked and just kept downloading and downloading things... into the ONE folder. Who'd have thought I'd get so hooked?! (Anyone who's tried it I'd say!).

So, I have rationalised my collection, by getting rid of stuff I know I'll never use and organised everything else, as follows... (click to enlarge)

Previously it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack, so I am very excited to open picasa now and see all my lovely elements, kits, papers etc staring back at me, all nice and neat!

Is that weird??!

We have a long weekend this weekend, so now that I'm all organised, I'll hopefully get to actually scrap something! ;)

our very first kiss

I'm back in the real world now... I'm learning how to juggle a newborn and a toddler.

I'm finding that it's now time again for me to have some time to myself and have started doing my digital scrapbooking again. I really didn't do much to start with, bad timing with our house renovations and baby coming etc!

But I have done my first scrap challenge...

I'm really happy with it. I was able to remember how to use pse and even made my own background paper!
