caravan adventure

"Caravan Adventure"

This was our first trip away in my in-laws caravan, it was lots of fun! Being fairly pregnant and having a toddler who was too excited to sleep most of the time proved for an interesting time away! Overall a great time was had by all :)

Saturday Special #7 - Colour Challenge

at least FOUR of the following colours needed to be used for this challenge... I ended up making my own papers and template for this challenge, so that was fun. I used 5 of the 6 :) I'm learning more all the time!

What scrapbooking item are you?!

I saw this on erika's blog, who got it from britt, so I thought I'd have a go too!
What scrapbooking item are you?!
I'm... Fibers!

Fun and crazy at times. You are a warm fuzzy kind of person. You run around getting things done but still find time for fun! You have so many diverse interests that it is often hard to pin you down to any one thing. People love your friendly attitude and carefree ways. You often brighten other people's days. But Fibers Beware - Sometimes people don't take you seriously because of your happy-go-lucky ways. Sometimes you find yourself feeling left out from decision making that could directly affect you. Even though you like to be happy and cheerful, make sure others know that you can also be serious and in tune with reality.

what are you? take the quiz

organising your bits 'n pieces

Okay, so it MAY be just after 2am in the morning... and I MAY be sick at the moment... but I'll tell you one thing. I'm nothing, if not consistent with getting a bee in my bonnet!

So this evening I have been organising ALL my digital scrapbooking stuff. It has taken HOURS. But it is soooo worthwhile. When I first started digi scrapping, I wasn't quite sure how it all worked and just kept downloading and downloading things... into the ONE folder. Who'd have thought I'd get so hooked?! (Anyone who's tried it I'd say!).

So, I have rationalised my collection, by getting rid of stuff I know I'll never use and organised everything else, as follows... (click to enlarge)

Previously it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack, so I am very excited to open picasa now and see all my lovely elements, kits, papers etc staring back at me, all nice and neat!

Is that weird??!

We have a long weekend this weekend, so now that I'm all organised, I'll hopefully get to actually scrap something! ;)

our very first kiss

I'm back in the real world now... I'm learning how to juggle a newborn and a toddler.

I'm finding that it's now time again for me to have some time to myself and have started doing my digital scrapbooking again. I really didn't do much to start with, bad timing with our house renovations and baby coming etc!

But I have done my first scrap challenge...

I'm really happy with it. I was able to remember how to use pse and even made my own background paper!

felix 2006

I am excited to share my fourth page with you all tonight. I have learnt a number of PSE tricks whilst working with this template - self taught, by trawling scrapbooking forums, which will hopefully save me lots of time and improve the look of my pages in the future.

I am really enjoying digi scrapping and I'm so pleased I have started! It's been time consuming, but I'm getting faster as I become more familiar with the programme. Half the time lies within choosing the right photos and choosing a theme for your page.

I love that I have a page with Felix's first year collated together... I'm happy with how it turned out.

Now what's next?! ;)

our little signing star

Like the play on words?! ;)

Well here it is, my first quickpage... it wasn't super "quick", in fact it took me all afternoon and most of this evening! I'm a bit disappointed in myself for choosing such christmassy colours, but I'm pleased as punch that I worked out how to turn the greys of the quickpage into their own paper sections (see the link at the bottom of this post for the quickpage as I received it).

Since Stefan (DH), has upgraded our computer, it is now running beautifully and doesn't struggle with any big files and having multiple programmes open at once, which is great. We also now have Photoshop Elements 6, which is a huge step up from the old version of Photoshop that I was trying to teach myself!

I was able to fudge my way around and work out how to get the stars to take on the paper I had chosen, only referring to the help section once (which didn't help that particular time!).

Now that I'm starting to get the hang of the programme and how to go about things, I'm sure there will be many more pages to follow. I have been downloading some great freebie bits and pieces from all over the internet. It's just a matter of finding time to use them! My free time during the day has been spent lately with me having a nap (I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and toi-ed!) and the evening I usually spend with my hubby. It's just a matter of being more productive with the free time I do have, I guess.

I really enjoy doing this and hope you liked my 3rd page! I might go on a font hunt soon and find some new and interesting ones to use too :)

Be sure to go and check out pie scraps... she has used the same quickpage to do her own layout and it looks great! :) I've got a signing star and she has singing stars! Cute eh?!
